 Dead End
« Thread Started on Jul 27, 2006, 5:47pm »

People like to be in a setting that they feel comfortable in, one that suits their personality or mood. When people were happy they enjoyed the sunshine, when they were not they preferred staying inside in a more enclosed area.

The dungeons of Durmstrang were a cold, dark place. Water pooled in some corners making the stone floor slick and dangerous. Spiders made their home in some corners, but the darker corners were home to more rare creatures, ones that made a girl glad that they were hidden in darkness.

Not many students wandered down in this area of the castle, perhaps that what had lured Alexandra down there; the fact that she wouldn’t run into crowds of people. She walked for some time, not paying attention to where her feet went, just thinking and walking. The only time Alex looked up was when she realized the darkness had surrounded her; a dead end.

I want to give my all
Baby just hold me
Simply control me
Because your arms they keep away the lonelies
When I look into your eyes
Then I realize
All I need is you in my life

Ryan was finding it hard to talk to Alex. She was so closed off to him. He understood the feeling of wanting to alway from people. He was like that since and still is at times. He sighed as he walked around the dungeons. He liked the stone walls all around him. He ran his hand against the stone. It was ice cold against his hand. He enjoyed the cold. He liked the feeling of freezing. He chuckled softly at himself.

Ryan continued to wander down the dungeons. He looked at everything he saw. He thought he heard something but shook his head no. No one came her but him and one time Alex. He smiled at that memory. He missed her happy face.

A dead end; awesome, just great. Now what was she supposed to do? Alex could turn around and head back the way she came... but why bother? Sighing Alex leaned against the wall and slid down slowly until she was sitting against the cold stone wall.

Footsteps? Alex's head shot up from resting on her knees. Was someone else there? Maybe she should called out to them... But what if it was a prefect that would get her in trouble for being down there. Best to stay silent. Her eyes roved the darkness in an effort to see if someone was there. She shivered as the cold from the wall behind her went through her thin shirt and into her skin.

What had she gotten herself into now? She was probably going to be trapped down there with no place and go and get caught and sent to detention and word would be sent to her father and... best not to think about that. Alex stayed there sitting on the floor, hugging her knees up to her chest as she set her chin on them.

Ryan went on through the dungeons deep in thought or more like memories. He smiled at a few good ones. He remember when things were better for him and his family. Now things were terrible and Alex was having troubles too. He was the worst boyfriend ever. He couldn't even found her. He was better off as a bad attitude loner that caused simple chaos. He wasn't that anymore. He thought about this for a moment. He wasn't sure who he was even more. He was caught in between who he was and who he really is.

Ryan groaned as he continued on. He knew he was getting to the dead end. He turned into it not paying much attention. He sat down against the wall. He didn't noticed that Alex was about eight feet away from him. He had his eye close.

There’s an expression, a saying really, that goes ‘so close, yet so far away’. It’s usually used in a dramatic fashion and followed by mild laughter. Much of the time it isn’t used in a true setting, one that really fits it to the deeper level it could go to. It was used to speak of measured distance only, not emotional distance, like it could if the saying was properly used.

At that time in the darkness of the dungeon, Alexandra sat, almost holding her breath as she tried so hard to remain silent and not get caught there by a Prefect. She was so close, yet so far away, and she didn’t even know it. What didn’t she know? Well that it was Ryan she had heard and that he was sitting not even 10 feet from her.

Silence, relative silence anyway, began to spread around her. Maybe the person had passed on by. Slowly Alex began to relax and rest her back against the stone wall again. The chill of it surprised her for some reason. Wait no it wasn’t the wall… it was a.. a something! Alex jumped away from where she was, giving a scream as she did.

Ryan opened his eyes when he heard a scream. For awhile there was silence and he was able to clear his mind. He turned toward the scream and saw Alex there. He felt like an idiot then. He let out a sigh and stood up. He walked over to where she was. He looked at her with wondering eyes. His violet eyes studied her over. She was a bit freaked out.

"What is it Alex?" asked Ryan in a concerning tone. He stood by her side. He looked toward the wall.

Trying to catch her breath again and compose herself Alexandra kept her eyes on where she had just been sitting, as if something might jump out at her. Her hand hovered near her waist ready to get out her wand if need be.

What is it Alex?

Alexandra jumped again. Turning she saw it was Ryan, where had he come from? She blushed at him finding her like this, scared or something that had come out of the darkness, but she had just beem jumpy lately. "Hey Ryan. Sorry, something just startled me." Alexandra tried to explain as she smiled weakly.

"It's ok Alex. No need to be sorry. Do you know what it was?" asked Ryan. He saw how she jump when he spoke. She semed to be jumpy still. Maybe a bit embarrassed as well. He grinned devilish at her. He put an arm around her. He hoped he wouldn't startled her.

((sorry for the late reply, been super busy))

Something slipped around her, but it did not startle Alexandra, looking to one side she saw it was Ryan's arm. "I think it was just a bug of something, you never know what are in these shadows." Alexandra answered, trying to pass it off as a joke as a weak smile formed on her face.

[it's ok]

Ryan smiled brushing his hand against her face. He looked into her eyes. "I'm sure it was just a bug. Probably a giant spider looking for some sweet blood. I wouldn't blame the spider if it wanted some of you. You are sweet," said Ryan. He leaned down and kissed her. He pulled her closer to him. He held Alex in his strong arms kissing her deeply.
